Beginners Rigid Heddle Weaving- 2nd May
Create a Textured Woven Table Runner!
Join Paula, resident weaver at Craggy Pear, for a hands-on beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll learn the fundamentals of rigid heddle weaving while creating a beautiful, functional piece for your home.
In this one-day workshop, you’ll learn essential rigid heddle techniques and weave a textured table runner approximately 1.2m long. You’ll work on a 40cm rigid heddle loom.
Your finished cloth can be used as:
A table runner
Fabric for a cushion cover
A tote bag or other creative project once you’re home
Think of your woven piece as beautiful handmade fabric—what it becomes is entirely up to you.
Workshop Details:
🗓️ Dates: Saturday 2nd May 2026
🕰️ Time: 10am to 3pm
📍 Location: Craggy Pear - 9 South Western Highway, Boyanup
All core materials are provided, including:
Tapestry loom warping thread
Sari silk ribbon (a wide variety of colours to choose from)
A large selection of yarns in different colours and textures
If you’d like to add even more texture or colour, additional materials will be available to purchase on the day.
Loom Information (Important)
BYO a 40cm loom
Please ensure your loom is fully assembled and ready to weave
Looms are available to purchase from Craggy Pear (however please know that while we have several in stock, we need at least 2-weeks notice to order if we run out)
A limited number of looms are available to borrow (please indicate at the time of booking if you need to borrow one or wish to purchase)

This workshop runs over lunch-time - we will break for lunch and recommend BYO or you can go across the road to the lunch-bar.
Parking is available behind our emporium - please park there.
