Spinners 4 Beginners - Starts 14 February
Learn the Art of Spinning and Create Your Own Yarn!
Join us for this special beginner-friendly spinning workshop designed to introduce you to the timeless craft of hand spinning. Whether you're curious about where your yarn comes from or dreaming of spinning your own skeins for knitting or crochet, this hands-on experience is the perfect place to begin.
Over the course of three interactive sessions over six weeks, you’ll learn the fundamentals of spinning, from wheel maintenance and carding to drafting and spinning your own yarn. With four classes, you'll have time to absorb the skills, practice at home, and build confidence between sessions.
By the end of the course, you’ll be well on your way to spinning beautiful, unique yarns – and you may just find a new lifelong passion!
Workshop Details:
🗓️ Dates: Begins Saturday 14th February 2026 (Fortnightly - 3 sessions over 6 weeks: Saturday 14th, 28th February and 14th March)
🕰️ Time: 10am–1pm
📍 Location: Craggy Pear – 9 South Western Highway, Boyanup
👥 Group size: Limited to 8 participants

Carding fibres in preparation for spinning
Drafting techniques for smooth, even yarn
Spinning your first singles and plying them into finished yarn
Troubleshooting common spinning issues
Understanding fibre types and their characteristics

Bring your own spinning wheel. A limited number of loan wheels are available – please book early if you require one.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before class begins so you can settle in.
