There was a time when learning to crochet happened naturally. Sitting beside Mum, Nan or a neighbour, hands stayed busy while stories were shared, laughter filled the room and timeless skills were quietly passed from one generation to the next.
The Threads That Join Us is our new Craggy Pear workshop series celebrating those moments—and bringing them back.
Our first gathering, Crochet Together, is an invitation to slow down, connect and learn the timeless art of crochet through one of its most-loved foundations... crochet squares.
Simple, beautiful and wonderfully versatile, crochet squares are where countless handmade creations begin. Blankets, cushions, bags, garments and treasured keepsakes all start with that very first square.
Whether you're completely new to crochet or picking up a hook again after many years, you'll be warmly guided in our relaxed, welcoming workshop.
Bring your mum, your daughter, your granddaughter or Nan. Bring a friend who feels like family. Or simply come on your own—there's always a place for you around our workshop table.

👥 Who can attend: Two adults aged 18 and over
Learn the foundations of crochet.
Create your own crochet square/s with confidence.
Discover techniques for neat, even stitches.
Hear how crochet squares can become blankets, cushions, bags, garments and more.
Enjoy a cosy day of creativity, conversation and connection.
Admission for two adults
Expert tuition throughout the day.
Quality yarn and workshop materials.
Use of a crochet hook during the workshop.
Tea, coffee and light refreshments.
Plenty of individual guidance in a group setting.
No experience is needed—just come along and enjoy learning something timeless.
Note:
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to settle in before class begins - we must start on time.
Wear casual clothing so you’re comfy.
Morning tea is provided (tea, coffee & biccies).
This workshop runs over lunch-time - we will break for lunch and recommend BYO or you can go across the road to the lunch-bar.
Limited parking is available behind our emporium or public parking nearby.
