What You'll Learn:
Layering Techniques – Learn how to apply multiple colours and use distressing to reveal layers for depth and character.
Blending & Ombre Effects – Discover how to seamlessly blend colours for a smooth gradient or artistic finish.
Saltwash Texture Application – Incorporate Saltwash to create a rustic, weathered, coastal texture.
Coloured Wax & Finishing Techniques – Experiment with dark, white, and coloured waxes to highlight texture, protect your finish, and add patina.

There's something truly special about turning a handful of soft fibre into beautiful yarn with your own hands. It's calming, creative, deeply satisfying... and for many, the beginning of a lifelong passion.
Whether you've always wanted to learn to spin or you're simply curious to give it a go, Spinners 4 Beginners is a welcoming place to start. With plenty of guidance, encouragement and time to practice between sessions, you'll build confidence at your own pace while sharing the experience with a lovely group of fellow makers.

Drafting and spinning your own yarn
Plying a finished skein
Understanding different fibres

What to Bring
Please bring your own spinning wheel. A limited number of loan wheels are available, so if you need one, simply let us know when booking.
***Important***
To help you get the most from the workshop, please make sure your spinning wheel is in good working order before the first session. If you're not sure, pop it into the Emporium at least a week beforehand and we'll happily give it a quick check. That way, when the workshop begins, we can focus on learning the joy of spinning together rather than spending valuable class time on wheel adjustments.

Join Natalie for a fun, hands-on, and inspiring 2-day felting workshop spread over two weekends, where you’ll learn how to create your very own hand-felted wool hat from start to finish.
Whether you’re drawn to something elegant, whimsical, or bold – you’ll bring your vision to life through the magical process of wet felting, shaping, and sculpting wool with your own hands.
This immersive experience is perfect for those with some felting experience who are ready to take their skills to the next level and try their hand at wearable art.
